Hotel in the French Pyrenees
Les Deux Vélos is a unique cycle lodge in the heart of the French Pyrenees. Our cycle friendly hotel is situated in the beautiful Massat valley in the Ariège department, between the villages Biert and Massat. It is the perfect place to experience the classic cycling of the Pyrenees and all that this idyllic region has to offer. Quiet cycling roads, scenic villages, outstanding scenery and welcoming locals will leave an unforgettable impression.
We offer the perfect accommodation for cyclists and those wishing to experience the natural beauty of the region. We can accommodate individual cyclists and groups up to 18 people in size, including a delicious 3-course dinner and big breakfast designed to provide sufficient energy for the day’s activities.
The cycle lodge has welcomed cyclists from all over the world for over 20 years. More than 12 cols can be accessed on loop rides of 50-120 kms length, starting from the lodge. Well-known cols include the Col de Port, Col d’Agnés, Port de l’Hers, Col de Latrape, Portet d’Aspet, Plateau de Beille. The famous cols of the High Pyrenees, e.g. Tourmalet and Aubisque are close by, 2 hours by car, easily done on a day-trip. Every year the Tour de France passes through our area.
We know the local roads and conditions and can provide advice on potential cycling routes. Also we can arrange sag wagon support for larger groups.
Guests are able to hire 2016 model APEX road bikes from the lodge or are welcome to bring their own bikes. Bikes are stored in a locked garage overnight and workshop equipment and spares are available for any maintenance that may be required.
Of course you can also choose the peace and quietness the unspoilt nature of the Pyrenees is well known for. You can have a picnic at a mountain lake or enjoy a relaxing walk along one of the many foot paths the mountains are laced with. We have brochures with walking-tours ready for you.
