We are Elma and Mark, and since 2008 we are the owners of Les Deux Vélos CycleLodge. We originally come from the Netherlands and we are also fluent in English and French with some German + Spanish. We love what we do and we are very passionate about our place.
After having travelled a lot we were up for something different. During our search for a new challenge we finally arrived at this small scale lodge in the beautiful French Pyrenees. Mark has always been a keen cyclist and with us being from Holland it was obvious there would be bikes involved. In the lodge we combine all the things we enjoy in life, and at the same time meet people from all over the world.
Mark is an experienced cycle racer and spinning instructor. In his spare time he also likes tinkering on bikes and working on the lodge. He tries to ride as often as work (Elma) lets him and loves showing guests around in this “cyclists heaven“.
Elma is quit okay with cycling on the flat, but came to the conclusion she doesn’t really like cycling uphill. Fortunately she will now have plenty of time to enjoy her real passion, which is cooking, together with making ceramic art. She will prepare you a nice meal every day.
We also still like travelling and in winter we try to find some time to make a nice trip every now and then.
In the evenings we are joining in for the meals as much as we can to hear all about the heroic climbs everybody has made and the other great stories of that day.
