TRAVEL AND DIRECTIONS
The Ariège is easily accessible by road and by air. Les Deux Vélos is situated just outside the small village of Biert and 1,5 km from Massat, the nearest village with facilities such as shops, bar/restaurants and a tourist-office. Saint-Girons is our biggest town around and the nearest big cities are Toulouse and Carcassonne, both roughly 2 hours away.
By car
Biert is about 25 km from Saint Girons through the valley of the river Arac. This will take about 30 min. Travelling along the D618 from Saint Girons to Massat you first come to Biert and just outside the village you will find Les Deux Vélos on your left at kilometre marker 52.
Coming from the side of Foix, approx. 40 km away, it takes an hour to get here. At Tarascon you follow the signs for Massat and col de Port. After having gone over the col you’ll reach Massat. Keep going on the D618 towards Biert and after 1,5 km you’ll find us on the right at kilometre marker 52.
By plane
Our closest airports are at Toulouse and Carcassonne. You can hire cars from both, giving you added flexibility whilst you are staying at the lodge, to either do rides further out or sightseeing elsewhere. Another option is flying to Barcelona and from there take the train to Tarascon.
We can arrange collections from both airports or Saint-Girons and Tarascon stations.
